“We are not illegal” – Human Rights Day Forum March 19, 2018Posted by adminLatest News A team of 23 Year 2 students from Brickfields Asia College’s UKT Law programme co-hosted and organised a Human Rights Day Forum, “We are not illegal”, on Saturday, 10 March 2018, from 9 am to 12 pm at the Liverpool Room of BAC’s PJ Campus. Held in conjunction with the International Human Rights Day and International Women’s Day, the forum sought to develop the project management skills of the students and expand their awareness on human rights issues. The event was proposed and designed by The Make It Right Movement, the CSR arm of BAC, and executed by the students. The 4 women speakers at the forum discussed four main topics, namely refugees, migrant workers, rare disease and LGBTIQ respectively, with UKT student Malvinder Singh moderating the sessions. This was followed by individual breakout sessions moderated by BAC students, where each speaker expounded on the respective topics at a more personal level. The highlight of the day saw BAC’s Managing Director Raja Singham launching the QR code for the document that provides more information on the topics discussed, and giving a memorable closing speech. The event, which was attended by 120 individuals, went smoothly with guidance and support from the Make It Right Movement, who also sponsored refreshments for the forum.
