Spreading Love Beyond Words: ICS’s Valentine Project at Welfare Karunai Illam

On the 15th of February, the Indian Cultural Society went out on what was to be an enlightening journey as part of their Valentine Project - a visit to Welfare Karunai Illam, a children's shelter home.
Something more than an outreach program, the project was to administer love, warmth, and positive energy into the lives of the kids who needed to truly feel appreciated and loved.
A Mission of Love and Kindness
With the committed leadership of the Board of Directors (BOD) and guidance from Ms. Puvan, the ICS team embarked on their mission to bring change. Their mission? To provide a day of happiness and belonging to the children of the shelter. The visit was carefully organised so each child would feel valued and loved.
Bringing Smiles with Personalized Gifts
Love isn't just about words - it's about action. To truly make an impact, the ICS team came prepared with:
- Essential items to support the children's daily needs.
- Personalised gifts, carefully chosen to make each child feel special.
These weren’t just ordinary gifts; they were tokens of thoughtfulness and care, handpicked to bring happiness to each child. After all, the smallest gestures often hold the biggest meaning.
Bringing Smiles with Personalised Gifts
One of the most important objectives of the Valentine Project was to give the children a sense of belonging. It was not about offering material aid but about enjoying moments of genuine human connection.
Through laughter, conversations, and common activities, the ICS team made every child feel seen, heard, and above all - loved.
A Day That Left a Lasting Impact
The smiles, the laughter, and the warmth shared during the visit were invaluable. For the ICS team, this was not an event; it was a reminder of the strength of compassion.
And for the children?
It was a day that reminded them that they are not alone, that there are people who care, and that love comes in many lovely forms.
The ICS Valentine Project was not simply about loving up a season of love - it was about making love happen. It was about appearing, giving, and making an impact, a small act of kindness at a time.
Cheers to more love, more kindness, and more moments that count.
