Plogging @ Petaling Jaya

BAC Students Unite for a Cleaner and Greener Community

A Greener City

On 21st October 2023, students from BAC Education and the local community came together to take on the challenge of making their city cleaner and greener.

The theme of the event, "Join Hands for a Greener Petaling Jaya", really encapsulated the spirit of the day. Participants were driven and passionate about sharing this commitment with one another to enhance the beauty of the city for its residents and visitors while pursuing environmental preservation.

Cooperative and Steadfast Teamwork

Taking charge of the event this time was UNIMY student Shahdan Muhaymin and his fellow peers. Their teamwork and the support of fellow committee members - Ku Hanif, Iqmal Aiman, Nabil Fikri, Wilney, Alya Maisarah, and Osama made the day as fruitful as it could've been.

MBPJ played a significant role by sponsoring essential cleaning equipment, making the event efficient and eco-friendly, and Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Petaling Jaya, ensured smooth traffic control throughout the event.

The Plogging Begins

Students arrived as early as 7am and all of them were eager to begin. Filled with enthusiasm, they were driven to clean-up together, for the community.

Having been briefed and prepared for the task at hand, the team began to warm up to take on the challenge at hand. Feeling pumped and energised, they began to scour the streets and begin plogging away!

A total of 31 students from BAC Education came together, armed with cleaning equipment and a strong sense of purpose. It was a resounding success and an event that the students were extremely grateful and proud to take part in.

Grateful Participation

Concluding with a closing ceremony graced by Pn. Noor Azizah Atdenan, Registrar of UNIMY, and Ybhg. Tuan Amir from IPD Petaling Jaya, all 31 students received a complimentary e-certification to acknowledge their dedication and hard work. Each one left with a greater sense of accomplishment.

Plogging@Petaling Jaya was not just an event; it was a declaration of our commitment to a cleaner, greener Petaling Jaya. Together, we created a positive impact on our environment and fostered a sense of responsibility among the youth. This is just the beginning of our journey to make our city cleaner and more vibrant.
