Leo Club Celebrates Mooncake Festival 2023
The Mooncake Festival
The Mooncake Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, is a time-honoured tradition that is celebrated by communities all over the world. This year, BAC's Leo Club wholeheartedly embraced this festival with excitement to create an unforgettable day for the children at Persatuan Kebajikan PuTi.
It was a day filled with laughter and joy for both the kids and the members of the Leo Club in attendance. One of the highlights was a charming story about the history of mooncakes, and the whimsical tale of the rabbit and Chang E, which were presented by Mr. Kenneth, which added necessary meanings to the festival itself. With dedication and servitude at the heart of the Leo Club, members related this knowledge to the children and fostered a deeper cultural understanding of the festival.
Bright as a Lantern
Further adding to the cultural experience, the Leo Club actively participated in a fun lantern-making activity with the children present. Witnessing all the colours, creativity, and care that went into making these lanterns really highlighted the meaning of the mooncake festival.
The children were joyful, and their camaraderie really touched the Leo members. It showcased more than just their artistic creativity but also their bright minds when it came to doing hands-on activities such as this.
The peak of the event was the lantern tour through the busy streets of Chinatown at Petaling Street, KL. The lanterns were illuminating through the night, and members of the Leo Club and the kids got the chance to experience the beautiful atmosphere of the Mooncake Festival.
A Night That Will Be Remembered
The night was filled with joy, laughter, and excitement as they witnessed all the colours and soft lights of the festival. For the Leo Club, this event was nothing short of a success, and it undoubtedly left an everlasting mark on themselves and the kids.
Arriving with a heart of servitude and leaving with a mind filled with happy memories, both Leo Club members and the children of Persatuan Kebajikan PuTI went home with more than they arrived with.
It was a celebration of service, community, and giving back to those who needed it. Now, as Leo Club reflects on this experience, they know that they have made a positive impact on the community they serve, and with that, it's a mission complete.
