Our IACT students got another invaluable opportunity to dive deeper into the topic of 'media planning' under the wise guidance of Mr. Arshad Ahamed, a seasoned professional with over 15 years of expertise in strategic marketing, digital transformation, and business innovation.

With the goal of equipping students with practical knowledge and strategies essential for effective media planning, a plethora of IACT students from various modules like CMA1014 Advertising Principles, ADV122 Media: Research, Strategy, Planning and Branding, and FMS1111 Advertising, took part in this workshop.

Mr. Arshad Ahamed, who led the session, boasts an impressive educational background and a distinguished career. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Bedfordshire, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK, and an MA in Data Science from Coventry University, UK. His career spans multiple countries, including Sri Lanka, Bahrain, Malaysia, and Indonesia, giving him a broad perspective on global marketing practices.

Mr. Ahamed's professional journey includes his role as the Regional Director of Media and Brand Strategy at GrowthOps Asia, where he managed significant accounts such as Shell Petroleum and Telekom Malaysia. His expertise in media planning and SEO strategy development was particularly evident in his successful projects for Malaysia Airlines.

With such a well decorated individual leading the workshop, the students were beyond excited for all that they were about to learn.

The workshop was designed to impart foundational principles crucial for effective media planning. Mr. Ahamed filled the session with practical insights and real-world examples, making the complex concepts of media strategy easily understood for the students.

His extensive experience in managing diverse markets and high-profile accounts added depth to the discussion, offering students a glimpse into the practical applications of media planning in real-world scenarios. Discussions that are not always easy to access from someone of his stature.
