Intervarsity Christian Week
Day 3 @ BAC
A Celebration of Unity in Faith
Every year, the Intervarsity Christian Week (ICW) bring together Christian Fellowships from universities across the Klang Valley for a week filled with unity, worship, and community spirit. This year, the BAC Christian Fellowship had the honour of hosting the event on Day 3 at Menara BAC, welcoming participants from 11 different University's Christian Fellowships!
The evening was expertly coordinated by BACCF President Lau Yi Xin, who also co-emceed the event, guiding participants through a well curated agenda that aimed to foster connection and deepen faith.
Before the event began, each CF had set up booths in the Horizon Banquet Hall, representing each of their CFs and showcasing their unique beliefs and activities. This interactive display allowed participants to engage with one another and learn about the distinct identities and missions of the different groups.
The evening then kicked off at the Omnia Auditorium with an Ice Breaking Session, a lively and interactive introduction that encouraged participants to mingle and get to know students from other universities. This set a warm and welcoming tone for the night, reinforcing the goal of building community between all the CFs from the very start! Following the icebreakers, an introduction from BAC CF committee member Ehud and welcoming session from the emcees officially opened the event.
Attendees were then treated to inspiring sharing sessions led by representatives from five of the 11 CFs–MAHSA University, IMU, TARUMT, Taylor’s College, and our very own Rhiannon from BACCF! They shared experiences from their CFs and how each one has grown over the past year, and prayed together with the rest of the students.
After that was the vibrant praise and worship session, where participants joined together to lift their voices in songs, creating an uplifting atmosphere that deepened their spiritual connection. The memorable photoshoot session provided an opportunity to capture the essence of the night, celebrating the bonds formed within the Christian community. As attendees posed for pictures, laughter and joy filled the air, reflecting the unity fostered throughout the evening.
The night culminated with a sharing segment from two special guests, Woo Kae Sheng and Jonathan Chin, who have dedicated their time to caring for the students of different CFs. They shared on the truth from the Bible and how it can be implemented into the activities held at CF, bringing great impact to the students and helping them to understand how important CF is.
ICW 2024 was more than just an event; it was a transformative experience that facilitated spiritual growth and forged lasting friendships among students from various institutions. The success of the evening is a testament to the dedication and hard work of BACCF and all participating Christian fellowships in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
As we look forward to future gatherings, the spirit of ICW 2024 will undoubtedly inspire continued growth and connection within our Christian fellowship community. Here’s to many more years of unity in faith!
