Give a Hoot, Don't Pollute!
Students for Change
“Give A Hoot, Don’t Pollute” was a campaign organised by students taking Serving Our Society (a CSR based module) under Ikigai 5.0 (a movement pioneered by a group of IACT College students). This group of students came together to take on a common goal; to rally nature-loving individuals from all walks of life towards preserving our plane.
To do so, they journeyed to the scenic Kanching Eco Forest Park in Rawang to turn their idea into action. The campaign's focus was a rigorous cleanup of the waterfall area, blending the peace of nature with the vigor of hiking and trekking activities.
40 eager and determined students from IACT College enthusiastically participated, guided by three dedicated lecturers who embraced the essence of this "mother nature quest."
Movement for Change
In addition to its primary objective of protecting the environment, Ikigai 5.0 promotes community development. The movement was happy to once again show its support for Sekolah Alternatif, which serves as a ray of hope for Sabah's stateless children. Sekolah Alternatif is on a noble mission to provide basic education to those who frequently face difficulties owing to their stateless status, operating under the slogan of "Pendidikan Untuk Semua," or "Education for All."
Sekolah Alternatif, which has four schools in Sabah, represents resilience and resolve in the face of hardship. It's a movement that rises tall despite having few resources and facing many obstacles. Beyond simple charity, the collaboration between Ikigai 5.0 and Sekolah Alternatif represents a common goal of dispelling prejudices and ensuring that education is available to everyone, regardless of background or situation.
Ikigai 5.0 will continue to mobilise communities and elevate the power of the collective to shape a brighter and more sustainable future. Through initiatives like "Give A Hoot, Don’t Pollute" and ongoing support for organisations like Sekolah Alternatif, Ikigai 5.0 exemplifies the transformative impact of youthful passion, commitment, and solidarity in creating positive change.
