Voice Acting Workshop
IACT has finally wrapped up its Future-Proof Certificate Series for August 2024. This series offered two engaging workshops with the sole aim of equipping participants with practical skills and knowledge in their respective fields.
The first workshop, Professional Certificate in Voice Acting: Crafting Characters for Animation, Games and Films, was led by Mr. Azman Zulkipli, a seasoned voice actor known for his work in both English and Malay.
Over the course of three days, participants explored the art of voice acting, with the main focus being on character creation, emotional expression and improvisation. The hands-on experience included role-playing exercises and personalised feedback from Mr. Zulkipli, allowing participants to hone their craft and understand the more complex parts of voice acting.
Branding Workshop
The second workshop in August, Professional Certificate in Crafting Brand Blueprints, was conducted by Ms. Marilyn Teoh, a branding expert with extensive experience working with top Malaysian and global brands.
This workshop introduced all the participants to the essentials of branding, providing them with tools and techniques to develop a brand essence and create comprehensive brand blueprints. Through the workshop's interactive sessions, participants gained the necessary information into the branding process, from conceptualization to execution.
Student Feedback
The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Sophia Yee Kay Si, a Diploma in Graphic Design student, appreciated the opportunity to engage with an experienced professional in voice acting, saying:
“It was good to learn more about the topic and have proper demonstrations and examples on how to pursue voice acting as a career.”
Similarly, Foo Jade Lyn, a Diploma in Mass Communication student, praised Ms. Teoh’s genuine approach, noting:
“I learned a lot from her, and she was very well-informed.”
Continuing What Was Started
This series first began all the way back in 2022, however this edition of the Future-Proof Certificate Series marked the first time that the workshops were conducted in a physical classroom setting.
This return to in-person learning was to bring a more dynamic and interactive element to these workshops, so that every participant will have a much more rewarding experience. But it doesn't stop here!
