On July 16th, PRactitioners in collaboration with IACT College hosted a memorable conference to celebrate World PR Day. One of the distinguished speakers, Datuk Wira (Dr) Calvin Khiu, Chairman of OE EduGroup and CEO of MK Curtain Group, captivated the audience with his inspiring journey from humble beginnings to entrepreneurial success.

Datuk Wira Calvin opened his talk by sharing his personal story of growth, emphasising the significance of starting from the ground level. He recounted the origins of the MK Curtain name, revealing that "M" stands for his wife and "K" for his own name, symbolising their partnership and personal touch that have been central to his brand's identity.

He then delved into the strategic choice behind the brand's distinctive red logo. Drawing parallels to famous Asian brands like Coca Cola and Air Asia, Datuk Wira Calvin highlighted how the color red signifies energy, passion, and visibility. This choice has undoubtedly contributed to MK Curtain's strong presence in the market.

Transitioning to his latest venture, OE Academy, Datuk Calvin spoke passionately about the academy's mission to empower individuals through professional training and coaching. He emphasised the importance of leveraging modern platforms like TikTok for PR and digital marketing. By showcasing the success stories of some of OE Academy's members, he illustrated how these platforms can be used effectively to enhance one's personal and professional brand.
