BAC Movie Day:
The Batman
By Shenoj Kuruvilla
On 3rd March 2022, BAC revived an old tradition: BAC Movie Day! With the world premiere of The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz, that was the movie chosen. BAC Education Group bought out one hall at TGV Jaya Shopping Centre for a 6:30pm show, a perfect release for students who have had a long day of classes.
From 16th of February, students were given a chance to collect free tickets from the Reception Counter at the PJ Campus. Due to the standard operating procedure of the cinema, social distancing rules were in place and only 65 tickets were available. There was a rush for it, and less than a week later, all 65 tickets had been claimed.
On the day of the event, the booth was set up at 4:45pm. Not long after, students started showing up to redeem their tickets. They were quite eager to get good seating, as the seating arrangement was first come, first serve. As the movie timing neared though, it started to rain heavily. Many students were unable to travel to the mall due to the torrential downpour.
Despite the heavy rain however, more than half the tickets were redeemed! Students even showed up after the start of the movie to collect their tickets so it would not go to waste. They were certainly eager to watch the movie, and it delivered. With an 89% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, it was definitely worth braving the rain for.
All in all, it was an enjoyable time, and students were able to 'beat the spoiler train' by watching the movie early. To the students, if you missed this round of BAC Movie Day, don't fret! Just keep an eye out for more in the future, and be sure to redeem your ticket early!
