IACT Students Raise Funds to Help End Digital Poverty
Students from the Diploma in Graphic Design (DGD) and Diploma of Marketing and Advertising (DMA), under the guidance of Mr. Joseph and Ms. Farah, organized a two-part fundraiser for their Final Year Project showcase as well as the 1 Million Devices charity.
The first part saw students selling Japanese treats at the PJ campus while the second part was an art auction - Ventes D’Art featuring 19 original pieces of art in various mediums including sculptures, paintings and digital illustrations. These pieces were created and generously donated by our very own students and lecturers, and staff from Faceberry Communications (the in-house advertising agency of the BAC Education Group)
The event was run as a silent auction where visitors put in the highest bid for the art they were interested in. The auction saw various visitors fighting over their favourite artwork and trying to figure out what their bid should be in order to win the one-of-a-kind piece.
The winning bid for each piece of art was announced at 5pm the same day.
"I'm so proud to announce that we raised RM1020 from the silent auction. All the proceeds will be split between 1MillionDevices and to fund the DGD & DMA Final Year Showcase happening at BACPAC on the 15th of December 2022."
Thank you so much to the artists, bidders, and everyone else who came to support the first ever art auction run by the final semester students of DGD and DMA from IACT College. This will definitely not be the last time. Looking forward to running more art auctions in the future. If you are interested to donate your art for future auctions, do contact Ms. Farah at farah@iact.edu.my.
