Living in Malaysia
Malaysians are well known to be friendly people and the best way to experience life in Malaysia is to befriend the locals and explore with them. Malaysians have a strong sense of national identity and are always ready and proud to help you discover their country. There is so much to experience in this melting pot of religions and ethnicities. Lending to this, many colourful festivals and holidays are celebrated here such as Eid, Chinese New Year, Christmas and Deepavali. A tradition during these festivities is the ‘open house’ concept, where friends, family and neighbours are all welcome to drop by to celebrate.
Just as many languages, races and traditions are represented in Malaysia so are the types of cuisine available. Malaysia offers an amazing array of food that serves to awaken the senses. Be it the local delights or even Western fusion, delicious food is available anywhere and at any time. A good way to experience local food is to do what the locals do; which is to visit hawker stalls and food courts that feature a wide range of gastronomic delights to sample and savour at a fair price.
