MD of BAC Raja Singham receives Edupreneur of the Year™ 2017 award from Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia (MyPreneurship) Kuala Lumpur, October 17, 2017 — In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Managing Director of Brickfields Asia College (BAC) Raja Singham was named Edupreneur of the Year™ by Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia (MyPreneurship) at the SME & Entrepreneurship Business Awards (SEBA) 2017/2018, held at Majestic Hotel. Celebrating its 1st anniversary, SEBA recognises outstanding entrepreneurs who excel in areas such as education, innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to the business and community. As a dedicated lecturer, passionate leader, master strategist, brand steward and most importantly, a selfless friend, he has touched and empowered countless lives in his personal mission to build a better nation. Over the years, his focus on innovation and educational excellence has been honoured by numerous distinguished awards, received personally and awarded to BAC. He is actively involved in various Government initiatives to improve the Malaysian education sector and is a Circle Expert for the Transformasi Nasional 2050 (TN50) on Work and Value Creation. Raja Singham founded the Make It Right Movement (MIRM), a CSR initiative by BAC that aims to create a sustained positive impact on society by championing community causes both locally and globally. MIRM collaborates with over 80 social good entities and is involved in more than 200 charity programmes and CSR-related projects and events annually. He also founded Freeschool.my, Malaysia’s largest free education site benefitting more than 100,000 students nationwide. The online learning platform, which offers high-quality e-books, practical exercises, seminars and webinars on core subjects in the Malaysian public examinations, is targeting to reach 1 million users by end-2017. In recognition of these CSR efforts, BAC was most recently awarded the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Award — Best in CSR 2017, among many others.
