The Malaysian Lysosomal Diseases Association (MLDA) will host a charity dinner event with the theme “RM1 for Every Life Counts” on Sunday, May 15 2016 at the Emperor Ballroom, Empire Hotel, SS16/1 Subang Jaya. The aim of this charity dinner is to create more awareness around the RM1 for Every Life Counts campaign where they will fundraise for 15 children suffering from Lysosomal Storage Diseases (LSD).

“Last year, MLDA has received RM2 million from Ministry of Health (MOH) to save 7 LSD patients however the funding is only enough to cover for only 1 year and we now we are in dire need of more money,” said Mr. Lee Yee Seng, President of MLDA.

“Whilst we are fully appreciative to the funding and support rendered by the Ministry of Health (MOH), it is our hope that this would be extended across to the rest of our remaining 15 children. If the children are unable to get their treatment on time, their growth development will be critically effected. Hence, we urge all GLC, corporate companies and Pharmaceutical healthcare companies to come together, support and help us achieve our objectives. Such support will render them the opportunity towards a new lease of life”, admits Mr Lee who also is a father of two daughters afflicted with Pompe disease.

“The focus of the campaign is to have 33,333 people to donate at least RM1 a day. We would like to invite members of our community to do their part for the cause by attending this exciting and fun evening. Thank you to the many volunteer hours and sponsorship support that have gone into the planning of MLDA’s third charity dinner,” adds Mr. Raja Singham, Founder of The Make It Right Movement.

Sponsorship opportunities and dinner tickets are still available.
