BAC Launches the Inaugural Inter-School Futsal Competition 2015


futsal1On July 2nd, 2015 Brickfields Asia College (BAC) in collaboration with EduNation and Football Focus Asia, officially launched the inaugural BAC Inter-School Futsal Competition 2015.

The event which is slated to commence on the 1st of August at Sports Planet, Subang Grand, will feature 200 teams from different schools in the Klang Valley competing in a knockout format.

Raja Singham, Managing Director of BAC, said “As broadcast sponsor of the British Premier League on Fox Sports, we have seen the tremendous influence that sports, particularly football, has on Malaysian youth. Futsal, especially, has become a very popular sport amongst Malaysians for a variety of reasons.” He went on to say, “We are delighted to work with Football Focus Asia who will oversee the logistics of this tournament which will be held over four days in August with over 200 schools from all over peninsular Malaysia vying for the championship trophy and cash prizes for both the team and their school.”

Edward O’Luanaigh, Chief Business Development Officer of Football Focus Asia, thanked BAC for the opportunity to work together to bring futsal to schools around Malaysia; “We are delighted to collaborate with BAC to popularise futsal to schools across the country. Teams of 8 students each will represent their respective schools during the entire competition. The top four teams from the four preliminary rounds will be eligible to compete in the Grand Finals and win exciting prizes for themselves and their schools.”

The winning team will receive a grand prize of RM 5,000 in cash and RM 10,000 in cash for the school they represent along with a championship trophy. The runners up of the tournament will win RM 2,500 for the team and RM 5,000 for their school. The 3rd place and 4th place winners will receive Rm 1,500 and RM 500 for the team and RM 2,500 and RM 1,000 for their schools respectively.

Students are encouraged to speak to their school representatives and register for the BAC Inter-School Futsal Competition to win great prizes for themselves and their schools.
